Bro. Edward “Ed” Baine was recently promoted to President of Dominion Energy Virginia. He is the first ever African American to earn that position. Bro. Baine became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated on the campus of Virginia Tech University in 1994. He is a current financial member of the Richmond Iota Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.

Baine joined the company in 1995 as an associate engineer after earning a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech, and since has held numerous engineering, operational and management positions. He was promoted to Vice President-Shared Services in 2009, and became Vice President-Power Generation System Operations in 2013 and Senior Vice President Transmission & Customer Service in 2015. In 2016, he was named Senior Vice President-Distribution, Power Delivery Group, and assumed his current role as Senior Vice President-Power Delivery for Dominion Energy Virginia in 2019.

In his new leadership role, Baine is responsible for all facets of Dominion Energy Virginia, a vertically integrated electric utility with generation, transmission and distribution assets that provides electric service to about 2.7 million customer accounts in Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.
